High School Troop Earns Manners Badge
This week, I had the pleasure of working with another Girl Scout Troop, but his time the girls were in High School. How refreshing to see a group of 10 girls still involved in scouting and working toward their Etiquette Badge on their way to the Gold Award. We were able to talk about Dining Etiquette, practicing their Handshake, making Self-Introduction and taking about how these skills will help them not only in high school but as well as finding the right college of each of them. Another star shines bright in scouting! I love my girl scouts!!
Catherine was able to customize their training based on the interests the girls shared and the requirements specified in the Manners Badge program. "We did a lot of role playing to practice things like how to thank an adult for dinner. After we got over our giggles, I really felt grown up. I can definitely see myself using what I learned in the real world," said Jenna, age 7, of the Troop. Each one of the scouts went on to successfully earn a Manners Badge.
